PESHAWAR, Jun 29 (APP): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to create 29 new positions in the Law and Justice Department to improve and strengthen the delivery of justice across the province.
According to official documents, the new appointments will result in an additional annual expenditure of Rs123.102 million.
The positions are being created for District Attorney offices, Labour Courts and Service Tribunals in various districts to address staff shortages and improve legal and judicial services.
The districts expected to benefit from the move include Torghar, Buner, Battagram, Bannu, Charsadda, Abbottabad, Upper Chitral, Lower Dir, Chitral, Dera Ismail Khan, Upper Dir, Hangu, Haripur, Kohistan, Karak, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Mansehra, Malakand, Mardan, Nowshera, Shangla, Swabi and Tank.
In addition, approval has been granted for 14 new positions in the Law Department in Peshawar, along with additional posts for the Labour Court Peshawar and the Government Pleader Service Tribunal Peshawar.
Funds for the new appointments will be provided under recurring expenditures to ensure uninterrupted legal operations and improve access to justice at the district level.
Officials said the initiative would particularly benefit residents of remote districts, including Chitral, Torghar and Kohistan, by reducing delays in legal proceedings and improving the efficiency of judicial services.
