BAGHDAD, Jun 29 (APP):Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, Chief Whip in the Senate of Pakistan, along with a delegation, met the newly elected leadership of the Republic of Iraq on as the Special Envoy of the Honourable President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari.
During the visit, Senator Mandviwalla delivered the personal messages of the President of Pakistan to Nizar Amedi, President of the Republic of Iraq, and Ali Falih Khadim Al Zaidi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Iraq, according to a statement issued by the Presidency on Monday.
The messages conveyed the President’s warm felicitations and best wishes on their election, reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its longstanding fraternal relations with Iraq, and expressed confidence that, under their leadership, Iraq would continue to advance towards greater peace, stability, and prosperity.
On behalf of the President of Pakistan, Senator Mandviwalla extended cordial invitations to the President and the Prime Minister of Iraq to undertake official visits to Pakistan at mutually convenient dates. Both leaders warmly welcomed the invitations and expressed their keen desire to visit Pakistan.
Senator Mandviwalla also called on Haibat Hamad Abbas Al Halbousi, Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, and Dr. Mustafa Nizar Juma’a Al Ani, Minister of Trade of the Republic of Iraq.
He extended cordial invitations to both dignitaries to visit Pakistan at mutually convenient dates. The Speaker and the Minister of Trade warmly welcomed the invitations and likewise expressed their keen desire to visit Pakistan.
The discussions reflected the shared desire of both sides to further strengthen bilateral cooperation across a broad range of areas, including education, health, agricultural, Zaireen management and people to people contacts.
The meetings were held in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Iraq and the shared resolve of both countries to further deepen their multifaceted partnership for the mutual benefit of their peoples.
