RAWALPINDI, Jun 29 (APP): The central 13th Muharram procession in Taxila concluded peacefully at Imambargah Karbala Fateh Haider Shah after passing through its traditional route under stringent security arrangements here on Monday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), SP Potohar, and other senior police officers remained present in the field throughout the event to supervise and monitor security and traffic arrangements.
More than 1,200 police officers and personnel were deployed to ensure the security of the procession and maintain smooth traffic flow.
According to police spokesperson, all participants were thoroughly searched before being allowed to enter the procession.
Streets, roads, and connecting routes along the procession’s path were sealed to prevent unauthorized access.
The procession and related religious gatherings were monitored continuously through the district and other control rooms to ensure effective coordination and a prompt response to any security concerns.
All necessary measures were taken to ensure foolproof security and the peaceful conclusion of the 13th Muharram procession, the spokesperson added.
