Flying drones in open air: Section 144 extended for 30 days in Punjab

LAHORE, Jun 29 (APP): The Punjab government has extended the ban on flying drones in open air under Section 144 across the province for 30 days.
According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, the ban on the use of outdoor drones has been maintained in view of security concerns, while this step has been taken under Section 144(6) of the Criminal Procedure Code 1898.
The notification states that limited use of small drones will be allowed in events held inside halls and marquees, however, the full responsibility for the safe use of drones during this time will lie with the organisers.
It has been further stated that intelligence and law enforcement agencies will be exempted from this ban.
The government has directed the administration and police across the province to ensure strict implementation of the orders so that the security situation can be effectively maintained.
