ICT Police arrest 26 accused, seize drugs, liquor and illegal weapons

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 26 accused, including two proclaimed offenders, during a series of operations across the federal capital and recovered drugs, liquor and illegal weapons from their possession.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 29 (APP): Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police arrested 26 accused, including two proclaimed offenders, during a series of operations across the federal capital and recovered drugs, liquor and illegal weapons from their possession.
An official told APP on Monday that police teams arrested 24 suspects involved in various criminal activities, while two proclaimed offenders were apprehended during a special campaign launched against proclaimed offenders and absconders.
The official said police recovered 1,460 grams of hashish, 1,325 grams of Ice (crystal meth), 67 bottles of liquor, one dagger, one gun and 11 pistols along with ammunition during the operations.
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects and further investigations are underway, the official added.
SSP Operations  Qazi Ali Raza said Islamabad Police remained committed to protecting the lives and property of citizens and would not allow any criminal element to disturb public peace.
He directed police teams to continue intelligence-based operations against criminals and ensure that offenders were brought to justice.
The SSP Qazi also urged citizens to cooperate with police by immediately reporting any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, adding that public cooperation was essential for eliminating crime from society.
