Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf on Monday reviewed progress on the under-construction Islamabad Model Jail in Sector H-16, directing officials to complete the remaining works on schedule while maintaining construction standards.
CDA chief reviews progress on Islamabad Model Jail project

ISLAMABAD, Jun 29 (APP): Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf on Monday reviewed progress on the under-construction Islamabad Model Jail in Sector H-16, directing officials to complete the remaining works on schedule while maintaining construction standards.
During a visit to the project site, officials briefed the CDA chairman that construction of the administrative block had entered its final stage. They said barracks 1 and 2 had been completed, while work on barrack 3 was around 95 per cent completed.
The briefing noted that sanitary and electrical installations in the barracks had been completed, while the jail hospital, watchtowers and sentry posts had also been finished.
Officials said arrangements were being made to ensure water supply, while work on sewerage, drainage and footpaths was progressing. They added that streetlight poles had been installed throughout the facility.
Sohail Ashraf directed officials to complete the remaining boundary wall and expedite work on the filtration plant to ensure the availability of clean drinking water at the jail.
The CDA chairman was also informed that the PC-I for the project’s second phase had been prepared and that work on the next phase would begin in the new fiscal year.
He instructed the project director and other concerned officials to ensure effective supervision, maintain quality standards and complete the remaining development work within the stipulated time frame.
