ISLAMABAD, Jun 29 (APP): The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Monday adjourned the proceedings in seven cases involving the PTI founder, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Barrister Gohar and several other party leaders and workers after the presiding judicial magistrate was unavailable.
The cases were scheduled to be heard by Judicial Magistrate Shahzad Khan. However, due to his unavailability, the court was unable to proceed with the hearings and adjourned all matters without taking any action.
The court fixed July 30 as the next date for hearing in all seven cases.
According to court records, the cases were registered against PTI leaders and workers over alleged violations of Section 144, which restricts public gatherings and certain activities during specified periods.
The First Information Reports (FIRs) were lodged at Tarnol and Karachi Company police stations in Islamabad. Authorities have accused the party leaders and supporters of violating restrictions imposed under the law.
The cases involve several senior PTI figures, including the party founder, former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and party chairman Barrister Gohar, along with other members and supporters of the party.
