30 science laboratories being upgraded in first phase of federal education initiative to improve science education

ISLAMABAD, Jun 29 (APP):Federal Secretary, Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training (MoFEPT) Mr. Nadeem Mahbub visited the recently completed/upgraded Physics, Chemistry and Biology Labs in Islamabad Model College of Boys F-8/4 Islamabad, along with Mr. Javed Iqbal Mirza, DG Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) and Mr Asif Niazi Dy.DG FDE/PD.
A landmark initiative for the renovation and upgradation of science laboratories across Federal Educational Institutions.
Under this initiative in first phase, 30 science laboratories are being comprehensively renovated, modernized, and made operational.
The Project Director Mr. Asif Niazi apprised Federal Secretary that as per his directions the upgraded physics labs are being designed and equipped in such a way that these labs will also be utilized as STEM labs for the students of Science and robotics.
This transformative project represents a significant shift from conventional laboratory environments towards modern, technology-enabled scientific learning spaces.This upgradation also includes the procurement of state-of-the-art scientific equipment, high-precision apparatus, digital learning tools, and advanced safety systems to ensure the highest standards of scientific instruction and laboratory operations. These facilities are equipped to support project-based learning, practical experimentation, and interdisciplinary scientific exploration, thereby strengthening students’ conceptual understanding and research capabilities.
During the visit of Science labs in IMCB F-8/4 college, The Federal Secretary reassured that the government commitment to provide access to advanced laboratory environments and contemporary scientific tools and modernize educational facilities to enhance learning outcomes, and prepare students to meet the challenges and opportunities of the twenty-first century.
Federal Secretary Mr. Nadeem Mahbub, appreciated the pace and quality of work being carried out for the renovation and upgradation of Science labs. He also gave some suggestions and directions regarding quality and design of the ongoing civil works in these labs.
