Commissioner inaugurates swimming pool, Spa Complex at historic Peshawar Barracks

A new chapter in Peshawar’s hospitality and tourism sector takes place as Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud on Sunday inaugurated the state-of-the-art swimming pool and Spa Complex at the historic Peshawar Barracks (Est. 1867).

PESHAWAR, Jun 28 (APP): A new chapter in Peshawar’s hospitality and tourism sector takes place as Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud on Sunday inaugurated the state-of-the-art swimming pool and Spa Complex at the historic Peshawar Barracks (Est. 1867).
The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Masood Ahmed Qazi, CEO of Peshawar Barracks and Honorary Consul General of Romania in Pakistan, who welcomed the chief guest and other distinguished attendees.
Originally established in 1867 as barracks for British soldiers, Peshawar Barracks has been carefully restored while preserving its historical character and transformed into a four-star heritage boutique hotel.
The addition of the modern swimming pool and spa complex marks another milestone in the property’s development, blending historic architecture with contemporary amenities to provide a premium experience for both domestic and international visitors.
Addressing the ceremony, CEO Masood Ahmed Qazi highlighted the immense tourism potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa stating that the province’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and tourist attractions could attract greater local and international visitors through the development of quality hospitality infrastructure.
Commissioner Riaz Khan Mahsud congratulated the management on the successful completion of the project and praised Peshawar Barracks for establishing itself as one of the city’s safest, highest-quality and family-friendly hospitality destinations. He said the addition of the swimming pool and spa complex would further enhance the institution’s standards and appeal.
The Commissioner also commended the management for completing the project within a short period, describing it as a reflection of their professionalism. He appreciated the efforts of the XI Corps and CEO Masood Ahmed Qazi in promoting tourism and inviting diplomats and distinguished international guests to Peshawar in his capacity as Honorary Consul General of Romania. He noted that these initiatives are a positive image of both Peshawar and Pakistan on the global stage.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the continued success and prosperity of Peshawar Barracks.
Participants expressed confidence that the institution would continue to play a significant role in promoting tourism, hospitality and Pakistan’s positive image internationally.
