FAISALABAD, Jun 28 (APP): The Faisalabad district police deployed more than 1,100 officers and personnel across the district on Sunday under a comprehensive security plan to ensure peaceful and secure conduct of Sunday prayers and religious services at churches.
Police spokesman Tariq Jutt said that the Police Department placed security at all churches on high alert on the special directives of City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain, enabling members of the Christian community to perform their religious obligations in a safe and peaceful environment.
He said that senior police officers personally visited various churches to inspect security arrangements and ensure effective implementation of the security plan. They also reviewed the deployment of personnel and monitored the overall preparedness of the force.
He said that Faisalabad Police made effective use of modern surveillance systems to strengthen security. Safe City cameras and CCTV networks continuously monitored churches and surrounding areas while walk-through gates and metal detectors were installed to screen worshippers before entry. Strict checking procedures were also enforced at entry and exit points to prevent any untoward incident, he added.
He said that Elite Force, Dolphin Force and police mobile patrol teams maintained continuous patrolling around churches and adjoining localities throughout the day.
He said that senior police officers remained present in the field throughout the day to supervise security arrangements and monitor the overall law and order situation.
The police utilized all available resources to ensure foolproof security and directed field officers to remain alert and maintain close surveillance in their respective jurisdictions, he added.
