DIG Tariq inspects security arrangements for central 9th Muharram procession
ISLAMABAD, Jun 25 (APP):Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq on Thursday visited the central 9th Muharram procession in the federal capital and inspected security arrangements to ensure the peaceful observance of the religious event.
An official told APP that the DIG Tariq visited various security points along the procession route and reviewed the deployment and operational preparedness of police personnel.
Tariq personally briefed officers and personnel deployed at different points and directed them to remain vigilant and strictly implement the security plan.
DIG reviewed access control measures, surveillance arrangements and coordination among security units to ensure effective response to any emergency.
He instructed officers to perform their duties with professionalism, maintain close coordination with all law enforcement agencies and facilitate mourners throughout the procession.
The official said Islamabad Police had adopted comprehensive security measures for the central 9th Muharram procession and all available resources were being utilized to maintain law and order.
