SARGODHA, Jun 23 (APP):A special session on the role of Peace Committees in promoting peace, tolerance, and inter-sect harmony during Muharram-ul-Haram was organized here on Tuesday.
Distinguished guests included Maulana Qari Ahmad Ali Nadeem, President of the
International Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Movement Punjab, Member of the Divisional Peace
Committee and Syed Ali Jafar Naqvi, Member of the District Peace Committee and
Member of the Core Peace Committee, says a press release.
During the discussion, various aspects of maintaining peace and order, promoting
inter-sect harmony, national unity, religious tolerance, and social cohesion during
Muharram-ul-Haram were highlighted.
Speakers emphasized that Muharram teaches the values of patience, sacrifice,
tolerance, and steadfastness in truth and justice, and that people from all schools
of thought should demonstrate mutual respect, understanding, and unity during this
sacred month.
The discussion also focused on Muharram arrangements at divisional and district
levels, procession routes, security measures, and the responsibilities of Peace
Committees.
The speakers noted that close coordination among the administration, religious scholars,
peace committees, and the general public was essential for maintaining a peaceful
environment throughout Muharram.
Citizens were urged to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies, district administration,
and peace committees and to promptly report any suspicious or provocative activity
that could threaten peace and public order.
