RAWALPINDI, Jun 23 (APP):A delegation from China’s QiaoYin City Management Company visited the facilities of the Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) to explore opportunities for cooperation in waste recycling and modern waste management projects.
The delegation, led by Vice President Mark Wan, visited the RWMC head office, waste transfer station and dumping site, where it was briefed on the city’s sanitation system, waste transfer and disposal mechanisms, and proposed waste-to-resource initiatives.
RWMC officials provided a detailed overview of solid waste management operations and ongoing efforts to introduce modern and environmentally sustainable waste disposal practices.
During the visit, the delegation observed various operational aspects of waste management and expressed keen interest in collaboration through the application of modern technologies.
The Chinese delegation also met Managing Director RWMC Rana Sajid Safdar and Senior Manager Operations Dr Hamid Iqbal.
The meeting discussed waste recycling, environmentally friendly waste disposal methods, investment opportunities and prospects for future cooperation between the two sides.
The delegation appreciated the sanitation and waste management system in Rawalpindi and expressed interest in promoting joint projects and the adoption of modern technologies in the sector.
