DC, SSP Operations review security arrangements

PESHAWAR, Jun 23 (APP):Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Captain (R) Sanaullah Khan, accompanied by SSP Operations Farhan Khan, conducted a detailed visit to various areas of Peshawar to inspect the routes of Muharram-ul-Haram processions and review the overall arrangements and security situation.
They also visited the control room established at Khan Raziq Police Station, where they were briefed on security arrangements, the monitoring system, and the operational procedures of the control room for Muharram-ul-Haram.
Administrative officers, police officials, representatives of the Capital Metropolitan Government, Rescue 1122, Civil Defence, TMAs, Revenue Department, and other relevant departments were also present on the occasion.
During the visit, a comprehensive review was conducted of procession routes, entry and exit points, cleanliness measures, drainage systems, street lighting, emergency medical facilities, traffic management, and security arrangements.
Relevant officials briefed the DC on the preparations made for Muharram-ul-Haram and the progress achieved so far.
The monitoring system, communication network, and security surveillance arrangements installed at the Khan Raziq Control Room were also inspected.
DC Peshawar directed all concerned departments to ensure the timely provision of all necessary facilities along the routes of processions and religious gatherings and to remain fully prepared to respond to any emergency situation.
He also issued necessary instructions regarding sanitation, lighting, removal of encroachments, drainage, and the provision of other civic amenities.
He stated that the district administration, police, and all relevant institutions are working in close coordination to maintain law and order, facilitate the public, and provide every possible assistance to mourners during Muharram-ul-Haram.
He further instructed officials to continue monitoring all arrangements throughout Muharram to ensure that mourners do not face any inconvenience.
