SANGHAR, Jun 23 (APP):Deputy Commissioner, Sanghar Sara Javed said that the Sindh government was taking revolutionary steps in the health sector to ensure modern medical facilities for the public.
She stated that SIMS Hospital Shahdadpur was now equipped with advanced healthcare services where thousands of patients are being treated.
She expressed these views while inaugurating a children’s diseases ward established under the Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN) at SIMS Hospital Shahdadpur. She said the newly established ward for neonatal and pediatric care would not only benefit children of Sanghar but also those from adjoining districts, ensuring access to modern medical treatment.
After the inauguration, the deputy commissioner visited different wards of the hospital and reviewed the medical facilities being provided. On this occasion, Director SIMS Hospital Dr Bashir Ahmed Jamali briefed her on maternity, neonatal, nutrition wards, OPD and other healthcare services.
Speaking at the ceremony, officials said that the core objective of the Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology (SICHN) was to provide modern and international-standard healthcare facilities to children, especially newborns. They added that the establishment of the institute in Shahdadpur was a major facility for the local population, as it would reduce the need for poor and middle-class families to travel to major cities for treatment.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by SICHN Executive Director Prof Dr Jamal Raza, CEO Dr Shahid Raza, District Health Officer Dr Muhammad Farooq, Dr Agha Yar Muhammad Rafiq, Assistant Commissioner Shahdadpur Qamaruddin Rahi Poto, along with senior officials, local political and social figures, journalists and a large number of citizens.
