SPAL carries out comprehensive zero waste operation in Gulberg Town

LAHORE, Jun 23 (APP):The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) on Tuesday carried out a comprehensive zero-waste operation in Gulberg Town under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Over 1,000 sanitation workers were deployed and 134 operational vehicles used to ensure effective cleanliness arrangements in the town.
Under the directives of Suthra Punjab Authority Director General Babar Sahib Din, sanitation teams successfully cleared 15 identified hotspot areas in Gulberg Town. Mechanical washing, manual sweeping and scraping activities were also completed along Ferozepur Road. As part of special cleanliness measures, around 170 loader rickshaws were deployed for door-to-door waste collection in the area.
Routine mechanical sweeping and washing operations were being conducted daily on Main Boulevard Gulberg, MM Alam Road and Noor Jehan Road.
Meanwhile, sanitation staff remained active in Ali Zeb Road, Main Market, Mini Market, Liberty Market and Barkat Market to complete early morning special cleaning operations.
Cleanliness teams were also deployed in Garden Town, Jeewan Hana Pind, Kotha Pind and areas surrounding Gaddafi Stadium.
In addition, sanitation activities continued at Kalma Chowk Flyover, Maulana Shaukat Ali Road, Model Town Link Road and PECO Road.
SPAL teams were ensuring timely clearance of waste containers and uninterrupted door-to-door waste collection across the city to provide improved sanitation facilities to residents.
Citizens had been urged to report complaints related to cleanliness by contacting the SPA helpline 1139 or through social media platforms.
