RAWALPINDI, Jun 23 (APP):Commissioner Rawalpindi Division Engineer Aamir Khattak accompanied by  Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa visited Chakwal to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram, including the main 7th Muharram procession.
During the visit, the officials inspected procession routes, entry and exit points, security checkpoints, walk-through gates, CCTV surveillance, search and sweep operations, rooftop monitoring, parking plans and traffic diversion measures.

Deputy Commissioner Chakwal, DPO Chakwal, and other civil and police officers were also present.
The RPO later visited the Central Control Room and Safe City monitoring center established at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where he was received a detailed briefing on security monitoring and coordination during Muharram.
Officials also briefed the RPO that modern technology and integrated surveillance systems are being used to ensure continuous monitoring of processions and religious gatherings.
Speaking on the occasion, RPO Babar Sarfraz Alpa said maintaining law and order and protecting the lives and property of citizens remain the top priorities.
He directed officers to ensure strict implementation of security plans, strengthen search and combing operations, maintain effective checking at all entry and exit points, and make optimal use of CCTV cameras and Safe City facilities.
He further emphasized close coordination among police, district administration, Rescue services, and other law enforcement agencies to ensure a peaceful environment for mourners. The main 7th Muharram procession will commence from the Central Imambargah Sarpak and conclude at Imambargah Mohajireen Sadat after passing through its traditional route.
