MD WASA reviews Nullah Lai desilting work
RAWALPINDI, Jun 23 (APP):Managing Director of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Rawalpindi, Azizullah Khan, visited Nullah Lai on Tuesday to review preparations for the monsoon season and inspect the ongoing dredging and desilting operations.
The MD inspected cleaning and desilting work at various points along the nullah and received a briefing from the concerned officials on the progress of the operation.
Expressing satisfaction with the pace of work, Azizullah directed officials to further accelerate the operation to ensure completion of all dredging and desilting activities by June 30, ahead of the monsoon season.
He said all available resources were being utilised in line with the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to facilitate citizens during the rainy season and maintain an effective drainage system.
The MD said WASA Rawalpindi remained fully alert in view of the upcoming monsoon and that all field teams had been mobilised to respond to any emergency.
He added that the agency was committed to providing improved services to citizens and ensuring smooth drainage during periods of heavy rainfall.
