Ombudsman intervention helps 62 students for scholarships

The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab facilitated the release of pending educational scholarships worth Rs 6 million to 62 students from various districts of the province, providing relief to deserving  students whose academic pursuits had been affected by prolonged delays.

LAHORE, Jun 23 (APP):The Office of the Ombudsman Punjab facilitated the release of pending educational scholarships worth Rs 6 million to 62 students from various districts of the province, providing relief to deserving
students whose academic pursuits had been affected by prolonged delays.
According to a spokesperson, a number of students approached the Ombudsman Punjab with complaints that their scholarships had remained pending for several months due to procedural bottlenecks and delays at different government departments and educational institutions.
Taking notice of the grievances, the Ombudsman Punjab directed the authorities concerned to examine each case on merit, remove unnecessary hurdles and ensure the prompt disbursement of scholarships to eligible students. The authorities were also instructed to improve administrative procedures to prevent such delays in future.
Following these directions, the relevant departments reviewed all pending cases, resolved documentation and procedural issues, and released scholarships amounting to Rs6 million to the deserving students.
