SPAL steps up cleanliness operations across the city during Muharram ul Haram

LAHORE, Jun 22 (APP):Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has intensified its cleanliness operations
across the city during Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure the provision of the best
possible sanitation facilities for mourners attending majalis and processions.
According to a press release issued here on Monday under the directives of
Suthra Punjab Authority DG Babar Sahib Din, washing activities were being
carried out at and around 121 Imambargahs across Lahore, while SPAL sanitation
workers remain deployed on procession routes to ensure manual sweeping and
timely waste clearance.
In line with Punjb Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Suthra Punjab” vision, SPAL
teams had also been assigned to sprinkle water along procession routes to maintain
cleanliness and improve the environment for participants.
Comprehensive cleaning and washing operations had been completed at 13 imambargahs
in Ravi Town, 15 in Shalimar Town and eight in Wagah Town. Similar activities were
underway at seven Imambargahs in Aziz Bhatti Town, 21 in Gulberg Town and
16 in Allama Iqbal Town.
Meanwhile, cleaning and washing operations continue at 10 Imambargahs in Nishtar
Town, 11 in Samanabad Town and 20 in Data Ganj Bakhsh Town.
SPAL sanitation teams have also been deployed on major procession routes, including
Mochi Gate to Karbala Gamay Shah, Shadman to Shah Jamal and Pando Street, Islam
Pura to Old Anarkali. Operational teams are likewise performing cleaning duties along
procession routes in Ali Raza Abad Raiwind and Thokar village.
Waste containers placed along procession routes were being emptied on time
to facilitate mourners and ensure a clean and hygienic environment throughout
Muharram activities.
