NA approves 135 demands for grants, rejects 587 cut motions

ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP):The National Assembly on Monday approved 135 demands for grants relating to various ministries, divisions and departments for the financial year 2026-27, while rejecting 587 cut motions moved by opposition members.
The demands were moved by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb and approved by the House.
The approved allocations included, Rs 709,505,000 granted for the Cabinet, Rs 5,941,454,000 for the Cabinet Division and Rs 63,516,151,000 for Development Expenditure of the Cabinet Division. The House also approved Rs 1,796,674,000 for Emergency Relief and Repatriation, Rs 22,577,544,000 for Atomic Energy, and Rs 2,357,387,000 for the Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority.
In the public service and governance sector, Rs 142,694,000 was granted for Naya Pakistan Housing Development Authority, while Rs 895,499,000 and Rs 921,203,000 were approved for the Prime Minister’s Office (Internal and Public) respectively. The National Disaster Management Authority received Rs 1,048,376,000, while the Board of Investment was allocated Rs 858,109,000.
The House approved Rs 199,842,000 for the Prime Minister’s Inspection Commission, and Rs 952,481,000 for the Special Technology Zone Authority. The National Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing Terrorism Authority received Rs 205,225,000, while the Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority was allocated Rs 250,225,000.
For civil services and administrative institutions, Rs 10,177,181,000 was approved for the Establishment Division, Rs 1,473,723,000 for the Federal Public Service Commission, Rs 3,514,750,000 for the National School of Public Policy, Rs 488,768,000 for National Security Division and Rs 2,087,757,000 for the Civil Services Academy.
In further approvals, the National Assembly granted Rs 117,902,000 for the Council of Common Interest (Secretariat), and Rs 354,365,000 for the Special Investment Facilitation Council Division (SIFCD).
For security and governance, Rs 22,960,644,000 was approved for the Intelligence Bureau Division, while Rs 1,315,421,000 was allocated for the Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division.
In the commerce and infrastructure sectors, the House approved Rs 27,909,940,000 for the Commerce Division, Rs 354,958,000 for the Communications Division, Rs 36,137,389,000 was allocated for Other Expenditure of the Communications Division and Pakistan Post Office Department was granted Rs 25,536,726,000.
In defence-related allocations, Rs 17,100,707,000 was approved for the Defence Division, while the largest single allocation of Rs 3,000,000,000,000 was granted for Defence Services. The Defence Production Division received Rs 1,140,055,000, Airports Security Force Rs 21,650,713,000, and Federal Government Educational Institutions in Cantonments and Garrisons Rs 17,582,031,000.
The House approved Rs 298,051,893,000 for Combined Civil Armed Forces, Rs 10,902,500,000 for Development Expenditure of Defence Division, Rs 979,840,000 for Defence Production Division, while Rs 1,355,823,000 was allocated for the National Counter Terrorism Authority.
For the Interior and Narcotics Control Division Rs 26,651,923,000, Rs 23,125,142,000 for Other Expenditure of the same division, Rs 21,824,900,000 for Development Expenditure of the Interior and Narcotics Control Division and Rs 23,221,446,000 was granted for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
Economic affairs allocations included Rs 985,301,000 for the Economic Affairs Division, Rs 14,026,000,000 for its miscellaneous expenditure, Rs 1,329,976,000 was approved for the Privatisation Division, Rs 410,290,000 for Development Expenditure of the Privatisation Division, Rs 89,000,000 was granted for Development Expenditure of Commerce Division while Rs 9,584,220,000 was allocated for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Division.
The National Assembly further approved Rs 5,660,518,000 for the Finance Division, Rs 9,873,311,000 for other expenditure of the Finance Division, Rs 14,914,495,000 was approved for the Controller General of Accounts, Rs 1,162,064,393,000 for Superannuation Allowances and Pensions, while Rs 2,504,467,460,000 was allocated for Grants, Subsidies and Miscellaneous Expenditure.
For revenue administration, Rs 106,012,000 was approved for the Revenue Division, and Rs 85,604,176,000 for the Federal Board of Revenue. It approved Rs 5,925,282,000 for the Housing and Works Division, Rs 22,882,028,000 was granted for the Industries and Production Division.
The House approved Rs 479,710,000 for the Special Investment Facilitation Council Division, Rs 1,440,000,000 for Development Expenditure of the Finance Division, Rs 11,570,000,000 was granted for Development Expenditure of the Revenue Division, Rs 2,477,760,000 for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Division.
The house approved Rs 4,241,496,000 for the Water Resources Division, Rs 3,171,185,000 for the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division, Rs 1,851,200,000 for Development Expenditure of the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division, Rs 2,557,089,000 for the Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan and States and Frontier Regions Division, and Rs 623,000,000 for Development Expenditure of the Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit Baltistan and States and Frontier Regions Division.
In education and culture, Rs 42,748,356,000 was approved for the Federal Education and Professional Training Division, Rs 28,411,490,000 for Development Expenditure of the Federal Education and Professional Training Division, Rs 66,432,063,000 for Higher Education Commission, Rs 1,092,300,000 for NAVTTC, Rs 7,900,510,000 for Development Expenditure of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission and Rs 2,604,635,000 for National Heritage and Culture Division.
The National Rahmatul-lil-Alameen Wa Khatamun Nabiyeen Authority received Rs 115,783,000. Rs 445,000,000 was allocated for Development Expenditure of the National Heritage and Culture Division. Rs311,500,000 for the Development Expenditure of the Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony Division, Rs3,567,120,000 for development expenditure of the science and technology division.
Foreign affairs allocations included Rs 5,012,472,000 for Foreign Affairs Division, and Rs 63,159,765,000 for Foreign Missions. The Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development Division received Rs 3,735,457,000.
Human rights institutions were allocated funds including Rs 1,831,612,000 for Human Rights Division, Rs 271,183,000 for National Commission for Human Rights, Rs 97,774,000 for the National Commission on the Rights of Child, and Rs 131,967,000 for the National Commission on the Status of Women.
In law and justice, Rs 11,123,389,000 was approved for the Law and Justice Division, while Rs 7,739,738,000 went to the National Accountability Bureau, Rs 1,847,581,000 to District Judiciary (ICT), Rs 354,570,000 for Federal Judicial Academy, Rs 1,127,148,000 to Federal Shariat Court, Rs 2,403,000,000 for Development Expenditure of the Law and Justice Division and Rs 322,355,000 to Council of Islamic Ideology.
The House also approved Rs 11,014,503,000 for Information and Broadcasting Division and Rs 15,897,550,000 for its miscellaneous expenditure, Rs 4,439,540,000 for Development Expenditure of Communications Division, Rs 659,252,000 was approved for Development Expenditure of the Information and Broadcasting Division, Rs 15,973,576,000 for the Science and Technology Division while Rs 22,495,417,000 was allocated for IT and Telecommunication Division.
The Establishment Division received Rs 1,786,080,000 for development expenditure, Rs 4,895,000,000 was allocated for SUPARCO, Rs 760,950,000 was granted for Development Expenditure of the Board of Investment, while Rs 563,849,000 was approved for the Special Technology Zones Authority.
Health sector funding included Rs 37,221,767,000 for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division, Rs 16,064,500,000 for Development Expenditure of the National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Division. It approved Rs 22,231,937,000 for the National Food Security and Research Division, Rs 7,291,498,000 was allocated for the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC), and Rs 4,183,000,000 for Development Expenditure of the National Food Security and Research Division.
Other major allocations include Rs 2,343,775,000 for Maritime Affairs Division, Rs 9,035,765,000 for National Assembly, Rs 3,217,202,000 for Senate, Rs 1,208,800,000 for Parliamentary Affairs, and Rs 2,091,458,000 for Religious Affairs and Inter-Faith Harmony.
In infrastructure and energy sectors, the House approved Rs 578,837,216,000 for Power Division, Rs 3,196,630,000 was allocated for Development Expenditure of Power Division, Rs 1,111,666,000 for Petroleum Division, Rs 70,478,151,000 for the Railways Division and Rs 1,201,001,000 for Geological Survey of Pakistan.
Development allocations included Rs 46,000,000,000 for HEC development, Rs 19,580,000,000 for IT and Telecom development, Rs 55,251,070,000 for Water Resources development, Rs 27,626,340,000 for Planning development projects, and Rs 40,657,870,000 for Railways capital outlay.
The House further approved Rs 94,714,562,000 for federal miscellaneous investments, Rs 231,085,880,000 for other development expenditure, Rs 2,359,678,000 for capital outlay on federal investments, Rs 169,210,378,000 for development loans and advances, and Rs 2,300,000,000 for external development loans and advances.
The National Assembly also approved Rs 844,780,152,000 for Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Rs 806,272,000 for the Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Division, Rs 14,390,094,000 was granted for Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.
The House approved Rs 1,335,000,000 for Capital Outlay on Development of Atomic Energy, Rs 311,800,000 for capital outlay on the Petroleum Division, Rs 59,255,000,000 for External Development Loans and Advances of the Communications Division, Rs76,607,502,000 for External Development Loans and Advances of the Power Division.
The National Assembly allocated Rs16,394,700,000 for Capital Outlay on Civil Works, Rs 6,657,650,000 for Capital Outlay on Industrial Development, Rs1,780,000,000 for Capital Outlay on Maritime Affairs Division, and Rs47,835,360,000 was granted for External Development Loans and Advances of the Water Resources Division.
