ATTOCK, Jun 22 (APP):Two children on Monday drowned while bathing in a rain-fed stream in a village near Fateh Jang , the Rescue 1122 officials said, with the body of one child recovered and a search continuing for the other.
The incident occurred in Village, Pind Jangal where the children were bathing in a seasonal stream when they were swept into deep water and drowned, according to Rescue 1122 officials.
The Rescue teams, including a specialised water rescue unit, were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the accident.
The emergency responders launched a search operation and recovered the body identified as Tayyab 14 years after several hours of efforts.
The body was handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities, they added.
The search operations were continuing for Waqas 10 years old, who remained missing as rescue divers and emergency personnel combed the area.
The authorities urged parents to remain vigilant and keep children away from deep water bodies, particularly during the monsoon season when water levels in streams and drainage channels could rise suddenly.
