BEIJING, June 22 (APP):China on Monday voiced support for ongoing mediation efforts by Pakistan, Qatar and other relevant parties aimed at reducing regional tensions and promoting diplomatic engagement.
Responding to a media question regarding reports that the United States and Qatar have agreed to establish communication channels to ensure the safety of the Strait of Hormuz and help end fighting in Lebanon following the first round of talks in Switzerland, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said China welcomes and supports such diplomatic initiatives.
He stated that China supports the mediation efforts of Pakistan, Qatar and all relevant parties, and expressed hope that the United States and Iran will maintain the positive momentum of negotiations and work in the same direction to achieve constructive outcomes.

The discussions referenced concerns related to the security of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global energy transit route, amid broader efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.
China reiterated its consistent position in support of diplomatic engagement and the peaceful settlement of disputes through consultation among all relevant parties.
