ITP issues traffic plan for 6th Muharram procession in I-9 sector

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP)  issued a traffic management plan for the 6th Muharram procession in Sector I-9 and advised commuters to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP)  issued a traffic management plan for the 6th Muharram procession in Sector I-9 and advised commuters to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
An ITP official told APP on Monday that the procession would commence from the residence of Raja Bashir, House No. 184, Street No. 24, Sector I-9/1 and proceed through Streets 24 to 27 and Street No. 22 before concluding at Imambargah Jafria, I-9/1.
The official said traffic diversions would remain in place along the procession route to ensure the smooth movement of mourners and effective security arrangements.
According to the traffic plan, traffic would be diverted at the Service Road U-turn and near Street No. 18 Service Road adjacent to the Imambargah during the procession.
Residents of I-9 travelling towards Rawalpindi, Faizabad, Pirwadhai and Katarian have been advised to use IJP Road as an alternate route.
Similarly, residents of I-9/2 can travel towards Faizabad and Rawalpindi via Monday Bazaar Service Road and IJP Road during the procession hours.
The official requested citizens to cooperate with traffic police personnel and use alternate routes to help maintain smooth traffic flow during the religious procession.
Road users were advised to follow Islamabad Traffic Police social media platforms and tune in to FM 92.4 for the latest traffic updates and travel advisories, the official added.
