ITP issues traffic advisory for 6th Muharram procession in F-11

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP)  issued a traffic management plan for the 6th Muharram procession in Sector F-11 and advised commuters to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 22 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP)  issued a traffic management plan for the 6th Muharram procession in Sector F-11 and advised commuters to use alternate routes to avoid inconvenience.
An ITP official told APP on Monday that the procession would commence from House No. 366, Street No. 37, Sector F-11/3 and proceed through designated routes before concluding at Imambargah Bhika Syedan in Sector F-11/4.
The official said comprehensive traffic arrangements had been made to facilitate mourners and ensure smooth traffic flow in the area during the procession.
According to the traffic plan, Colonel Sher Khan Road to the F-11 Service Road up to the Double Road petrol pump will remain closed for traffic during the procession.
Similarly, the road from Exchange Chowk to the Service Road on Colonel Sher Khan Road will remain closed, while traffic movement on both sides from Street No. 37, F-11/3 to Exchange Chowk and Colonel Sher Khan Road will also be restricted.
The official said the Double Road between Sectors F-11/2 and F-11/3 from Old Margalla Road to the F-11 Markaz petrol pump U-turn would remain closed during the procession.
Residents of F-11 have been advised to use Karam Road and Hilal Road as alternate routes for travelling to and from the sector.
Motorists may also use Margalla Road via F-11 Chowk as an alternative route, while all other roads in the area will remain open for traffic, the official added.
The official urged citizens to use alternate routes during the procession and requested participants to park their vehicles and motorcycles only in designated parking areas.
Road users were advised to follow Islamabad Traffic Police social media platforms and tune in to FM 92.4 for the latest traffic updates and travel advisories.
