Father, son killed as dumper hits motorcycle in Mardan

PESHAWAR, Jun 21 (APP): A man his son lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Mardan when a speeding dumper truck hit their motorcycle on Sunday.

According to Rescue 1122 officials, the accident occurred in Boot Seri area of Mardan. The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Sajjad and his 19-year-old son Kamran, residents of Mardan.

Rescue sources said the victims were returning to Mardan from Swabi when their motorcycle was hit by a dumper truck. The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident.

Upon receiving the report, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site and shifted the bodies to Shahbaz Garhi Hospital.

Police have launched a search operation to trace the absconding driver and the vehicle involved in the incident. A special team has been formed to ensure the suspect’s arrest.

Local people have emphasized that weak enforcement of traffic regulations has contributed to the increasing number of road accidents.
