GUJRAT, Jun 20 (APP): The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its enforcement operations across Gujrat district to ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
According to official sources, on the directives of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority Sadia Rafat, PFA teams inspected 44 food businesses during routine checks across the district.
During the inspections, 19 food points were issued improvement notices for violating hygiene requirements, while six food businesses were fined a total of Rs85,000 for non-compliance with food safety regulations.
Officials further said that 2.5 kilograms of expired food items were discarded during the operation, while two food samples were collected for laboratory testing.
The authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring the provision of safe and quality food to the public and warned food business operators to strictly follow hygiene standards.
