RAWALPINDI, Jun 19 (APP):Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) has finalized a comprehensive cleanliness plan to ensure a clean and hygienic environment during Muharram-ul-Haram across the city.
Acting on the directives of RWMC Chief Executive Officer Rana Sajid Safdar, all operational staff have been instructed to conduct regular inspections of Muharram procession routes, Imambargahs, venues of religious gatherings (Majalis), and surrounding areas.
The teams have been directed to ensure that these locations are thoroughly cleaned before scheduled events.
The cleanliness operation will be supervised by Senior Manager Operations Dr. Hamid Iqbal, District Manager Amir Younas Naik, City Operations Manager Syed Hassan Sardar, and Deputy Manager Operations Gul Baz Satti.
RWMC will also establish two relief camps from the 7th to the 10th of Muharram, where additional sanitation staff will be deployed. Five sanitary workers will remain on duty during each shift at the camps. Sector Chief Malik Gulfraz has been appointed as the in-charge of the relief camps, assisted by Assistant Manager Arj Kazmi and Zonal Officer Muhammad Meraj, who will oversee sanitation activities.
To facilitate prompt response to public complaints and maintain coordination with field teams, special control rooms will be set up at Municipal Corporation Liaquat Bagh and Safe City Rawalpindi from the 1st to the 15th of Muharram. RWMC personnel will work in shifts to monitor cleanliness conditions along procession routes and ensure immediate resolution of sanitation-related issues.
According to RWMC official, the comprehensive plan aims to maintain exemplary cleanliness standards throughout the city during Muharram, provide the best possible civic services, and ensure a clean, healthy, and safe environment around processions, religious gatherings and Imambargahs.
