Minister calls for dialogue to resolve national issues, hails government’s diplomatic gains

ISLAMABAD, Jun 19 (APP):State Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Kheal Das on Friday expressed confidence that Pakistan’s political and national challenges could be resolved through dialogue, stressing that meaningful engagement was the only way to bridge differences.
Talking to the media outside Parliament House, he said if international conflicts could be settled through dialogue, political differences within the country could also be resolved through the same approach. He urged all stakeholders to pursue unity and constructive engagement in the national interest.
The minister said criticism by political opponents was a normal feature of democracy and should be welcomed, but added that it should not overshadow Pakistan’s recent diplomatic achievements and growing international recognition.
He said everyone had the right to express their views in a democratic system, noting that opposition parties, including PTI, were free to criticise the government.
He highlighted that Pakistan’s global image had improved significantly, with the country’s flag, passport and its 250 million people earning greater respect around the world. He questioned why critics failed to acknowledge these achievements.
He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar for their diplomatic efforts, saying their role in promoting peace had enhanced Pakistan’s international standing and contributed to global stability.
The minister also expressed confidence that the country’s economy would continue to improve at a fast pace under the government’s policies.
Referring to petroleum prices, he said the government had fulfilled its commitment to provide relief to the public. He recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had earlier assured the nation that the government would pass on the benefits to consumers once international oil prices declined after easing regional tensions.
He added that with global oil prices now falling, the government had acted promptly to reduce petroleum prices, fulfilling its promise to provide relief to the people.
