Political tensions within the ruling party in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly persisted on Friday as differences among some members remained unresolved ahead of the provincial budget session.

PESHAWAR, Jun 19 (APP): Political tensions within the ruling party in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly persisted on Friday as differences among some members remained unresolved ahead of the provincial budget session.
The emerging divisions became visible before the parliamentary party meeting, where consultations were expected to focus on budget strategy and the party’s political direction.
Speaking to the media, MPA Fazal Elahi said members holding reservations would participate in the budget proceedings and make decisions after reviewing the contents of the budget.
He said support for the financial plan would depend on whether it aligned with the vision of the party founder.
Former Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mushtaq Ghani said the parliamentary party meeting would decide the party’s approach towards the budget.
He referred to earlier remarks attributed to the Chief Minister regarding consultation before the budget process.
Meanwhile, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said approval of the provincial budget was a constitutional and legal obligation and stressed that the budget process was an internal provincial matter unrelated to the federal government.
The developments come at a time when the provincial leadership is preparing to present its financial roadmap for the next fiscal year amid heightened political attention.
