Toxic sweet incident: death toll rises to 9

LAYYAH, April 21 (APP): At least nine persons, including
five real brothers, died after consuming poisonous sweets at Chak 105/TDA near Fattehpur.

According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Inayat Ali, the
incident took place when a resident of Chak 105 TDA namely Umar Hayat brought sweets from a shop owned by Tariq Mahmood and Khalid Mahmood located at Chowk 111 Morh Toil Indus to celebrate the birth of his grandson and distributed them among the people of the area.

As a result, nine persons died including five real brothers
namely Shahbaz, Irfan, Ramzan and Sikandar besides Abdul
Ghafoor, Muhammad Ameer and Hafeez.
