Murder accused awarded 25-year imprisonment

An additional district and sessions court on Thursday sentenced a man to 25-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 after finding him guilty of murdering a citizen within the jurisdiction of Gulgasht Police Station.

MULTAN, Jun 18 (APP): An additional district and sessions court on Thursday sentenced a man to 25-year imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 after finding him guilty of murdering a citizen within the jurisdiction of Gulgasht Police Station.
The court announced the verdict after completion of the trial and convicted accused Muhammad Nauman alias Noma in a murder case registered in 2023.
According to the prosecution, the convict had killed Muhammad Shahmeer near Allah Shafi Chowk in the limits of Gulgasht Police Station. Following the incident, police registered FIR No. 1608/23 under sections 302, 392 and 411 of the Pakistan Penal Code and initiated an investigation.
Police subsequently arrested the accused, completed the investigation on the basis of substantial evidence and submitted the challan before the court.
After examining the evidence and hearing arguments from both sides, the court convicted Muhammad Nauman alias Noma and awarded him 25-years imprisonment along with compensation of Rs 500,000 to be paid to the legal heirs of the deceased.
