ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):A 35-member student delegation from Cadet College Pataro, Jamshoro, accompanied by faculty members, on Thursday visited Parliament House on a study tour aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of Pakistan’s parliamentary system and democratic institutions.
Upon arrival, the delegation was warmly received by officials of the Senate Secretariat, who welcomed the students and briefed them on the significance of the visit.
During the tour, the students visited the Senate Museum, where they were given a detailed presentation on Pakistan’s parliamentary history, the establishment and evolution of the Senate, its constitutional development, and the pivotal role played by the Upper House in the legislative process. The delegation was also shown a documentary highlighting the history, achievements, and performance of the Senate.
A key feature of the visit was the opportunity for students to observe the proceedings of a Senate session. The students showed keen interest in debates and discussions on legislation, public welfare issues, and matters of national importance. They actively engaged with Senate Secretariat officials, asking questions about parliamentary procedures, the legislative process, and the constitutional responsibilities of the Senate. Officials provided a comprehensive briefing aimed at helping students gain deeper insight into the functioning of Parliament.
The students described the visit as highly informative and beneficial, noting that such educational tours contribute significantly to promoting democratic values, constitutional awareness, and understanding of national institutions among the youth.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Senate Secretariat officials for their warm hospitality, excellent arrangements, and detailed briefings throughout the visit.
The visiting delegation included Administrative Officer Hero Thakar, Assistant Professor Masood Akhtar, Assistant Professor Ghulam Ali, and Lecturer Muzammil Memon.
