Minister hails govt for providing maximum relief to people, industries despite several challenges

ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan on Thursday said the government had provided maximum relief to the people and industries in the federal budget while taking into account prevailing economic challenges, energy requirements and the need to sustain business activity.
Talking to the media outside Parliament, he said Pakistan relied heavily on imported energy, but despite difficult economic conditions over the past several months, the government had successfully managed the situation, earning appreciation at the international level.
The minister said that while meeting revenue targets remained essential, it was equally important to facilitate the public and the business community to promote business growth, create employment opportunities, expand the services sector and strengthen the national economy.
Jam Kamal said the country had achieved a degree of economic stability, which would have a positive impact on exports and investment.
He expressed confidence that the government’s incentives and business-friendly policies would help increase exports and further strengthen the economy.
Responding to a question, the minister referred to the security situation in Balochistan and attempts at foreign interference, expressing confidence that the government and state institutions were fully committed to thwart the designs of elements seeking to undermine peace and stability in the province.
