ISLAMABAD, Jun 18 (APP):Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and SAFRON, Engineer Amir Muqam, on Thursday hailed the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) as a landmark diplomatic achievement for Pakistan, congratulating Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Pakistan’s diplomatic corps for their role in facilitating the historic agreement signed in Islamabad between the Presidents of the United States and Iran.
In a statement, Amir Muqam said the successful conclusion of the Islamabad MoU reflects Pakistan’s growing stature as a credible and trusted mediator on the global stage.
He termed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s role as a signatory and mediator to the agreement a matter of immense national pride and a testament to the international community’s confidence in Pakistan.
The federal minister said the statesmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the effective diplomacy of Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and the strategic guidance of Field Marshal Asim Munir had further strengthened Pakistan’s image as a responsible, reliable and influential state committed to regional and global peace.
Muqam noted that the memorandum bears the signatures of US President Donald J. Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, describing it as a significant diplomatic breakthrough and a clear endorsement of Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting dialogue and conflict resolution.
He said the development serves as compelling evidence of Pakistan’s positive contribution towards regional peace, stability and international cooperation.
He also commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Pakistan’s senior diplomats for their outstanding efforts in safeguarding national interests and effectively presenting Pakistan’s position at the international level.
The minister said Pakistan’s political and military leadership had rendered commendable services in advancing national interests, strengthening regional peace and enhancing the country’s global standing.
He described the achievement as a moment of pride for the entire nation and expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue to play a pivotal role in promoting international peace, stability and diplomatic engagement in the years ahead.
