DPO Dera reviews Muharram security arrangements in Paharpur
Dera Ismail Khan , Jun 18 (APP):District Police Officer (DPO) Dera Ismail Khan, Ziauddin Ahmed, visited Paharpur Circle on Thursday to review security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram and inspect ongoing development works in the division.
The DPO was accompanied by SP Paharpur Division Iqbal Khan Baloch during the visit, while DSP Paharpur Parvez Shah and SHO Paharpur Muhammad Ali Khan were also present on the occasion.
SP Paharpur Division briefed the DPO on the security plan devised for Muharram-ul-Haram, including deployment of police personnel, surveillance measures and arrangements for mourning processions and gatherings.
During the visit, DPO Ziauddin Ahmed inspected various Imambargahs, procession routes and security arrangements in Paharpur. He reviewed the measures taken to ensure peaceful observance of Muharram and issued necessary directions to address any shortcomings in the arrangements.
The DPO also met custodians of religious sites and local residents of the Thallajat area and discussed the security measures adopted by police to maintain law and order during Muharram.
Speaking on the occasion, he said maintaining an atmosphere of peace, harmony and brotherhood during Muharram-ul-Haram was the top priority of the district police.
“We will not allow anyone to disturb the peaceful environment. Strict action will be taken without discrimination against miscreants and elements attempting to spread unrest,” he said.
Later, the DPO inspected the ongoing reconstruction and renovation work of Police Station Paharpur and the Police Facilitation Centre being established in Paharpur Division.
SP Iqbal Khan Baloch briefed him on the progress of the projects. Expressing satisfaction over the pace of work, the DPO directed the authorities concerned to complete the Police Facilitation Centre at the earliest so that citizens could benefit from improved police services and facilities without delay.
The district police remain committed to ensuring foolproof security arrangements and providing better public services across the district, he added.
