Commissioner chairs meeting of DICC to review law, order situation
PESHAWAR, Jun 18 (APP):Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mahsud here Thursday chaired a meeting of Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC)to review the prevailing law and order situation and decide measures for further improvement.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commander 102 Brigade Colonel Naveed Abbas, deputy commissioners and district police officers from all five districts of Peshawar Division and senior civil and military officials.
Participants reviewed security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram including the security of processions and religious gatherings, traffic management plans and the provision of municipal services.
Commissioner directed all relevant departments to ensure effective security and traffic arrangements during Muharram and to promote harmony among different schools of thought.
The meeting also discussed the security of Chinese nationals and other foreign residents, the dignified repatriation of illegal Afghan nationals, measures to curb extortion and threatening calls and the monitoring of sensitive individuals.
The Commissioner issued directives for the immediate closure of all illegal access routes around Hayatabad and the Shahkas Boundary Wall, accelerated action against illegal gold mining activities in Nowshera and efforts to ensure the safe return of Pakistani transporters, drivers and crew members stranded in Afghanistan.
He urged district administrations and police authorities across the division to ensure the prompt and effective implementation of all decisions aimed at maintaining peace and security.
