BHAKKAR, Jun 18 (APP):The police arrested three suspects, including a Proclaimed Offender (PO), during a series of operations aimed at curbing crimes, the official sources said on Thursday.
According to a police spokesperson, the crackdown was carried out under the directives of District Police Officer, Shehzad Rafiq Awan. The operations were led by Darya Khan Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Muhammad Azam Khan and involved a team from City Darya Khan Police Station.
The police said the arrested individuals included a wanted fugitive, a suspect accused of illegal possession of a firearm, and an alleged drug trafficker.
One suspect, identified as Fayyaz, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan, was taken into custody after police recovered a pistol 30 bore from his possession.
In a separate operation, the police arrested a suspect namely Mahmood and seized liquor 18 litres from him.
The police registered cases against the accused and launched further investigations.
The police also apprehended Shahid Mahmood, who was wanted in connection with a fraud-related case registered at City Darya Khan Police Station.
The police said operations against criminal elements would continue without discrimination, adding that maintaining law and order in the district remained a top priority
