ABBOTTABAD, Jun 17 (APP): Hazara Police have finalized comprehensive security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram and will utilize all available resources to maintain peace and order across the region, said DIG Hazara Nasser Mahmood Satti.
He made these remarks while chairing an important meeting in Abbottabad on law and order during Muharram, interfaith harmony, and security arrangements. The meeting was attended by DPO Haripur, DPO Mansehra, SSP Traffic Abbottabad Muhammad Ishtiaq Khan, religious scholars from all schools of thought, members of district peace committees, and leaders of the Shia community.
The meeting reviewed the overall security situation during Muharram, arrangements for processions and religious gatherings, and measures to promote inter-sect harmony and public cooperation. Participants assured full support to law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace during the holy month.
DIG Hazara stated that all security measures have been completed and all available resources will be deployed to ensure a peaceful and secure environment. He emphasized that maintaining peace during Muharram is a collective responsibility of all segments of society.
He urged religious scholars, spiritual leaders, and community representatives to promote unity, brotherhood, tolerance, and mutual respect in their sermons and public engagements to prevent any elements from disturbing sectarian harmony.
The DIG further warned that strict legal action will be taken against sectarianism, hate speech, and any form of provocation. He added that the dissemination of hateful content on social media or any platform will not be tolerated, and indiscriminate action will be taken against violators.
