DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Jun 17 (APP): In line with the Gomal university’s commitment to environmental sustainability, the Department of English organized a tree plantation drive aimed at enhancing the greenery of the campus and promoting environmental awareness among students.
The event was attended by Pro Vice Chancellor and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Dr. Naimatullah Babar; Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administrative Sciences and Director IBA, Professor Dr. Zahid Awan; and Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Professor Dr. Asma Saeed, who participated as chief guests.
Head of the Department of English, Dr. Sajid Anwar, and In-charge of the Horticulture and Landscaping Section, Dr. Muhammad Imran, were also present and supervised the arrangements for the campaign.
The tree plantation drive formally commenced with the distinguished guests planting saplings of various species. Speaking on the occasion, they reaffirmed the university’s commitment to undertaking continuous initiatives to make all campuses greener and more environmental friendly.
Addressing the participants, the speakers highlighted the vital role of trees in improving environmental quality by providing oxygen, reducing temperatures, and helping combat pollution. They encouraged students to actively participate in plantation activities and contribute to environmental conservation efforts.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge to continue such initiatives to transform Gomal University into a clean, green, and eco-friendly educational institution. The guests also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Sajid Anwar and his team for successfully organizing the campaign.
