Negligent driving claims life as LWMC vehicle hits motorcycle

A man was killed and another sustained serious injuries in a collision between a Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) vehicle and a motorcycle near Rehmat Park Stop on Ferozepur Road on Wednesday.

LAHORE, Jun 17 (APP): A man was killed and another sustained serious injuries in a collision between a Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) vehicle and a motorcycle near Rehmat Park Stop on Ferozepur Road on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson for City Traffic Police, the deceased was identified as Arif Ali, a resident of Rehmat Park, who died on the spot.
The injured person was provided immediate medical assistance by Rescue 1122 and shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said that the LWMC vehicle allegedly hit the motorcycle due to overspeeding and negligent driving.
Following the accident, the driver of the LWMC vehicle fled the scene, while police took the vehicle into custody.
Lahore Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi, took notice of the incident and sought a report from the SP Saddar regarding the circumstances surrounding the accident.
