MIRPURKHAS, Jun 17 (APP): Mayor Mirpurkhas Abdul Raouf Ghouri on Wednesday underscored the pivotal role of young people in shaping Pakistan’s future, urging them to excel in education, innovation, and community service to contribute to national development. He was addressing a seminar titled *“Voices Unheard: Creative Expression and Mental Well-being for Youth”* and the Youth Achievement Awards Night held in Mirpurkhas.
The event, organized by the New Life Foundation with support from the Sindh Government’s Department of Sports and Youth Affairs, brought together 125 young participants from diverse backgrounds. The seminar focused on empowering youth, promoting mental well-being, and recognizing the contributions of young individuals and organizations working for social development. During the ceremony, 12 youth-led community organizations were honored with Youth Achievement Awards for their outstanding work in education, healthcare, environmental protection, and social welfare.
Three specialized sessions were conducted to equip participants with practical knowledge and life skills. Businessman Asif Meraj led a session on recognizing personal strengths and developing career goals, while mental health expert Dr. Lakesh Kumar Khatri discussed stress management, self-care, and the importance of seeking timely support. Talal Khan conducted a session on heatstroke prevention, educating participants about symptoms, emergency response measures, and protective strategies during extreme weather conditions.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony, guests and community leaders commended the enthusiasm and potential of the youth and encouraged them to continue serving society through constructive initiatives. Chief Organizer Maryam Zahid Ali thanked the speakers, participants, supporting organizations, and media representatives for their contributions, reaffirming the New Life Foundation’s commitment to youth development and empowerment through future educational and social engagement programs.
