MIRPURKHAS, Jun 17 (APP):Mirpurkhas Range Police have organized special training workshops for male and female volunteers across the districts of Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, and Tharparkar as part of comprehensive preparations for Muharram-ul-Haram 2026. The initiative aims to strengthen security arrangements, ensure the smooth conduct of religious gatherings and processions, and enhance emergency response capabilities during the holy month.
According to a spokesperson for the DIG Office, the workshops were held on Wednesday on the directives of Deputy Inspector General of Police Mirpurkhas Range, Captain (Retd.) Faisal Abdullah Chachar. The training program was designed to promote close cooperation between law enforcement agencies and local communities while equipping volunteers with the skills needed to assist in maintaining public safety.
During the sessions, participants received practical instruction in first aid, emergency evacuation procedures, fire safety, crowd management, identifying suspicious activities, and effective coordination with police and rescue services. Officers from the police department, Rescue 1122 personnel, and representatives of other relevant agencies conducted the training and shared operational guidelines with the volunteers.
Speaking on the occasion, DIG Faisal Abdullah Chachar said Sindh Police firmly believes in community partnership and considers public cooperation a key pillar of effective policing. He noted that close coordination between volunteers and security agencies during Muharram would strengthen preventive measures and enable a swift response to any untoward incident. The spokesperson added that Mirpurkhas Range Police is utilizing all available resources to promote peace, religious harmony, and brotherhood, ensuring that mourners can observe Muharram in a secure and peaceful environment.
