According to a police spokesperson, four processions and 61 religious gatherings are scheduled to take place throughout the district. Authorities have put in place a four-tier security system for all events, with enhanced surveillance and monitoring measures aimed at maintaining law and order during the holy month.
As part of the arrangements, walk-through gates and CCTV cameras have been installed along the routes of key processions, while personnel from the Elite Force have also been deployed to strengthen security. The measures are designed to provide a secure environment for participants and prevent any untoward incidents.
District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif personally reviewed security preparations during visits to various areas, Imambargahs and procession routes. He inspected sensitive locations, entry and exit points, and rooftop deployment positions, besides meeting organizers to discuss security and logistical arrangements.
The DPO directed officials to ensure foolproof security at all gatherings and processions and strictly enforce the government’s code of conduct, reaffirming the police department’s commitment to maintaining peace and protecting citizens throughout Muharram.
