Pakistan’s Muzammil Murtaza defeats India’s Aditya Kothari at ITF M15

Pakistan’s leading tennis player, Muzammil Murtaza, made an impressive start to his campaign at the ITF M15 Future Tournament in Kayseri, Turkiye, defeating India’s Aditya Kothari in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, in the first round of the main draw.

ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP): Pakistan’s leading tennis player, Muzammil Murtaza, made an impressive start to his campaign at the ITF M15 Future Tournament in Kayseri, Turkiye, defeating India’s Aditya Kothari in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, in the first round of the main draw.
Muzammil earned direct entry into the main draw through a wild card arranged by the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) in collaboration with the Turkish Tennis Federation, providing him with an excellent opportunity to compete at the international level, said a press release.
Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, President of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, congratulated Muzammil on his outstanding performance and praised his dominant victory.
Aisam said, PTF remains committed to creating opportunities for Pakistani players both at home and abroad. Through our mutual collaboration with the Turkish Tennis Federation, we secured a main draw wild card for Muzammil and also facilitated sponsorship support with the help of Bard Foundation for his participation in this tournament. It is encouraging to see him start his campaign with such a convincing victory against a strong Indian opponent. We hope he continues this momentum in the upcoming rounds.
The President further emphasized that PTF will continue to work towards providing international exposure and competitive opportunities to talented Pakistani players to help them improve their rankings and gain valuable experience on the professional circuit.
Col. (R) Zia-ud-Din Tufail, Secretary General of the Pakistan Tennis Federation, along with the PTF management, also congratulated Muzammil Murtaza on his excellent performance and wished him success in the remainder of the tournament.
