City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has devised a comprehensive traffic management plan for Muharram-ul-Haram, deploying more than 980 traffic officers and personnel to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during religious gatherings and processions.

RAWALPINDI, Jun 17 (APP): City Traffic Police (CTP) Rawalpindi has devised a comprehensive traffic management plan for Muharram-ul-Haram, deploying more than 980 traffic officers and personnel to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety during religious gatherings and processions.
According to a CTP spokesperson, the roads along the routes of majalis (religious gatherings) and processions will be completely closed.
Commuters will be diverted to alternative routes during the events to minimize congestion and facilitate movement across the city.
To manage the increased traffic burden, additional personnel have been deployed on diversion routes, while emergency access routes will remain open for ambulances and emergency services throughout Muharram.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Farhan Aslam said that no parking will be allowed along procession routes or at religious gathering venues.
He further stated that any restrictions imposed on double-riding on motorcycles will be strictly enforced during the period.
The CTO also warned that strict action would be taken against vehicles without registration number plates and those using tinted or black-paper-covered windows, citing security concerns.
Directing traffic officers to work in close coordination, Farhan Aslam emphasized the importance of teamwork in maintaining law and order and ensuring the peaceful conduct of Muharram.
He urged citizens to cooperate with traffic authorities by using designated alternative routes during processions and religious gatherings.
