JICA delegation explores agricultural collaboration with Sargodha University

SARGODHA, Jun 17 (APP): A delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), accompanied by representatives of NTC International Co., Ltd. and KPMG, visited the University of Sargodha on Wednesday to explore avenues for cooperation in agriculture, research and sustainable development.
During a meeting with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Qaisar Abbas, the delegation discussed potential collaboration in agriculture, value addition, agribusiness development, climate-smart farming, food processing and research commercialisation.
The two sides also explored opportunities for joint research projects, technology transfer, capacity building and rural development initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity and enhancing the socio-economic impact of research.
Discussions focused on strengthening industry-academia linkages, promoting international partnerships and facilitating knowledge exchange to support innovation and regional development.
The visit was seen as a step towards expanding the university’s international engagement and fostering collaborative projects in areas of mutual interest, particularly in agriculture and sustainable development.
