ISLAMABAD, Jun 17 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman on Wednesday said that Pakistan’s integrity and defence cannot be compromised under any circumstances.
The country has seen fast development under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the PML-N government, and its international standing has improved he expressed these views while participating  debate on the federal budget for the financial year 2026–27 in the National Assembly.
He congratulated the finance minister and the government for presenting what he called a balanced budget.
He said that a detailed discussion on the budget in Parliament strengthens democracy.
He added that Parliament is an important forum where public expectations are represented and matters of development and progress are discussed. He also said that the budget debate was held in a constructive way, which reflects a positive democratic practice.
The lawmaker praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for progress during his tenure, saying that development in Pakistan had increased significantly.
He also appreciated Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, saying his leadership role had improved Pakistan’s image in the world.
He said the armed forces are defending the country on internal and external fronts and are making sacrifices for national security.
He added that Pakistan had played a historic role in helping improve understanding between Iran and the United States.
He stressed that provincial governments should improve their capacity to use resources effectively.
He said that after the 18th Amendment and increased NFC awards, provinces have more funds, but in some cases they are not fully investing them in health and education.
Referring to economic measures, he said tax relief for the real estate sector and a reduction in the super tax would support economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen industrial activity. He added that growth in different sectors would improve employment opportunities for young people.
He said the government is training youth under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme and working to equip them with modern skills.
He also welcomed reforms in the Federal Excise Duty system and efforts to improve taxation instead of introducing new taxes.
He said ongoing reforms in the energy sector aim to provide cheaper electricity, promote green technology, and support digital transformation.
He expressed confidence that these steps would lead Pakistan towards long-term development and economic stability. He said the next fiscal year would bring better job opportunities and improved economic conditions.
He added that Pakistan has overcome serious economic challenges and is now on a stable path. He reiterated that national integrity and defence remain non-negotiable and praised the sacrifices of the armed forces, calling on the public to recognize their services. He concluded by expressing hope for continued national progress and success.
