3 top progressive farmers get cash prizes under wheat yield competition

Farmers who produced outstanding results in the district-level wheat yield competition were awarded cash award during a ceremony held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday.

LODHRAN, Jun 17 (APP):Farmers who produced outstanding results in the district-level wheat yield competition were awarded cash award during a ceremony held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ashraf, as the chief guest, distributed prize cheques among the winning farmers and congratulated them. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched several farmer-friendly initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity and ensuring the welfare of the farmers community.
He described the wheat yield competition as a significant initiative of the Punjab government, designed to promote modern agricultural technology and encourage farmers to increase per-acre crop production.
Under the competition, Noor Muhammad Noon secured first position and received a cash award of Rs1 million, while Muhammad Ramzan clinched second position and was awarded Rs. 800,000. Noreen Niaz, who secured third position, received a prize cheque worth Rs. 500,000.
Deputy Director Agriculture Malik Muhammad Zafar, said that all stages of the competition were completed with complete transparency and strictly in accordance with merit. Progressive farmer Chaudhry Kashif Islam, stated that the successful contestants were selected under the prescribed rules and regulations.
A large number of Agriculture department officials, progressive farmers and members of the farming community attended the ceremony.
