CTD eliminates three terrorists in Shabqadar

PESHAWAR, Jun 17 (APP):The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out a successful operation in Mardan, killing three terrorists affiliated with Fitna Al-Khawarij.
According to the CTD on Wednesday, cache of modern weapons was also recovered, while a search operation was underway in the area.
CTD officials said, the operation was conducted on the basis of intelligence reports in the Shabqadar area. During the raid, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the terrorists and law enforcement personnel. As a result, all three terrorists were killed.
CTD stated that two of the deceased terrorists have been identified as Hayat Khan alias Hayatullah was a wanted criminal involved in the target killing case of Maulana Izzatullah and the second, Asim was allegedly involved in the targeted killings of police personnel and religious leaders in Khyber District. The identification process of the third terrorist was still ongoing.
During the operation, security forces recovered three Kalashnikov rifles, additional firearms and hand grenades from the possession of the slain terrorists.
CTD officials said that a search operation was ongoing to track down any terrorists who might have escaped from the area. Security measures have also been tightened.
The CTD reaffirmed its commitment to continuing counter terrorism operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa until terrorism was completely eradicated.
